What types of patients can benefit from Noma treatment?

We accept patients aged 18 and older who have the ability to consent to treatment, have access to technology and a safe space in their home for dosing sessions, and can provide an emergency contact. Noma is for patients who are not responding to more traditional treatments such as psychotherapy and/or medication (typically two failed trials at adequate dose and duration).

Qualifying diagnoses include moderate to severe unipolar or bipolar depression, anxiety disorders, and PTSD. All Noma patients are evaluated for appropriateness by a licensed psychiatric practitioner (MD/DO/NP) before admission.

Psychiatric exclusions typically include active or history of psychosis or SUD, active mania or mixed episode, or personality disorders. However, these will be evaluated on a case by case basis. Medical disqualifiers include uncontrolled hypertension, uncontrolled hypo- or hyper-thyroidism, unstable cardiovascular disease, and other medical issues at Noma’s discretion.

We do not accept patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
